Amethyst is a type of quartz in which impurities of manganese or iron have given it its purple color. This is a "marquis" cut stone with a pointed oval shape. The design works well with a long slender stone and I have listed a 6 x 10mm oval as the stone for this ring. Marquis cuts are not always available though I can cut any shape you like. Please email me should you wish to have a marquis cut stone in this or any of my designs.
