Art Nouveau Sugilite Ring

Sugilite was discovered in 1944 by a Japanese geologist Ken-ici Sugi on the island of Iwagi, Shikoku, Japan. It is also found in South Africa and has become what is considered a “new age ” gemstone.
The lovely rich color of sugilite varies from a red purple to bright royal purple and is sometimes found in a light lavender.
Sugilite is a complex semi orecious mineral composed of a combination of Potassium, Sodium, Lithium, Iron, Maganese, Aluminum and Silica.
Another name for sugilite is “Royal Azel.”
